One strange day in August, 16 2040 I was exploring the woods. I was just wandering around studying footprints of animals when I saw a strange footprint, one that I had never seen before. It was big, had circular feet and round toes. I followed them to a tree, then to a lake, and then they just stopped, as if it vanished in mid air. I went home; at my house was my mom Tina, my dad Joe, my sister Emily, and my two dogs Buster and Brownie.
Buster, Brownie and I are best palls. We hunt animals together. My sister Emily loved to sew. She sewed blankets, scarves and other fabrics. Our parents Joe, and Tina loved to clean. The problem that we always had to live with is, our family didn't have a lot of money. Our house is made out of wood and some bricks. We each have one pair of shoes, and our clothes are really worn out. The worst part is, we only have one mattress. Sure we don't have a lot of money, but we have each other, and that is all we ever needed.
The next morning Buster, Brownie and I went back to the woods to look for some more tracks. We looked all around the woods. We didn't find anything and went to swim in the lake. All of a sudden, we saw something in the water. It was too big to be a fish or an alligator. We couldn't see the front but the back was orange, scaly and slimy. We got out of the water to see if we can catch the thing. I sent Buster to get a net. He followed my orders. I was looking for a spot to catch it, but then I heard a rustling in the bushes. Brownie and I thought it was nothing. Then a raccoon jumped out of the bush and tried to attack me. Brownie chased it away. I didn't get hurt, but when I stood up the monster was gone. I'm not sure where it went. I looked everywhere for it, just then Brownie started barking at the other side of the lake. I looked closely at the other side of the lake, and it was just a possum.
Buster came back with the stuff, but I didn't need them anymore. Then we decided to get in the water and play for a little bit, and then we decided to go home. On the way home we looked around for the monster. We saw something in a tree. My dogs started to bark. We stayed and waited till it came down. Then when it came down we were disappointed because it was just a big raccoon. We kept looking around, but we didn't find anything and gave up. We went back to our house. On the way Buster started barking. I couldn't figure out why, I didn't want to tell my family because what if they got scared it would be my entire fault. I saw my house. I started walking towered it.
When we got home I told my family what happened. They told me they saw this thing before and that it was a problem for the town. We went back to the lake. We waited for a long time. Then we saw it come out of the lake. It had a scary face. It had its mouth on its forehead, its eyes on its chin, one nose on each cheek, and one ear in the middle of its face. Then It started smelling every single thing if it was blind. Then it found us and started chasing us. It followed us into our house. We hid in the attic. The monster found us. It approached us, but before it got to close, Emily caught it with a net.
When we were going to turn it into the police, it started talking to us it said "PLEASE DONT TURN ME IN, I'M BEGGING YOU!" So we didn't turn it in. We wondered what to do with it instead of turning it in. So we kept it for a while for it could get comfortable. From its voice we could tell it was a boy, so we decided to name him Bob because it was the first thing that came into our head. We turned him into the police. The town gave us a reward; we bought new clothes, shoes, and a new house. It was the best day of our life. I went to a school, we moved into a city, and my parents got a job. What happened to Bob? Let’s just say he ran away and met someone special.
