One rainy day I came home from school to hear that we were moving to a church in the country because we couldn't afford the house anymore! I did not want to move I was barely getting to know people! My mom said that they gave them a great deal. They told me that the church was huge and it had a wide terrain. My brother and I didn't want to move we both had plans for the summer we had no choose, but to obey them. So in two weeks we set out, meanwhile we were driving I could see farms and lots of land. There were also many animals out in the open such as horses, dogs, cats, sheep, cows, and pigs.
When we arrived, I looked up to see an old dirty and messy house the chairs and windows were broken and there were leaves inside. "That's weird the house looked much nicer when we came to look at it" mom said. "This house is creeping me out" said Michael. "Yeah me to" I replied. Michael and I went upstairs to choose our rooms. I picked the room that had the view of the farm in the front of the house. My room was a little dusty so I put my belongings in my drawers and started to dust the furniture while Michael sat on my messy bed reading an adventure book called "The Adventures of Fred Collin."
After two whole hours of hard work I barely had finished cleaning my room when my mom called Michael and me for dinner. When I was eating I heard a slight murmur behind the wall next to the graveyard. "Did you guys hear that noise behind the wall?" I asked Michael and my parents. "No, what sweet heart?" my dad asked me. I shrugged and finished eating my food. Thinking of what that strange and unfamiliar whisper could have been.
There was a thunderstorm when I woke up in the morning. I smelled pancakes and so I went downstairs and saw that everyone was eating. As I sat down to eat, I clearly saw a dark figure pass the window! "May I be excused" I said while I ran outside? No one was there! I was really sure that I had seen something. "That was really weird" I said to myself and I went back inside to my room to think about what I had previously seen.
After a few days, I decided to investigate. So I went out to the woods next to the graveyard. After searching for 30 minutes I was sure that I would not find anything so I started to head back home. I suddenly got a feeling that someone was following me so I looked back, but I didn't find anyone except a star shaped necklace quickly ran home as my heartbeat was accelerating. I grabbed it with my
hands and put it un my pocket for safe keeping. So I quickly ran home as my heart was accelerating.
Later, that day I went back outside to try and find to whom the necklace belonged to. I went to every farm and asked if they knew whom the necklace could have belonged to. When I knocked on the door of the last house near the church, a young girl about my age opened the withered door and claimed that it was hers. She told me that she lost it when she was in the woods searching for insects. I gave it back to her and went home. The days passed and I became good friends with the girl named Kimberly. I told her about the ghost that I saw and she confessed to me that it was her all along. The murmuring was her and her mom. All they wanted to do was to go introduce themselves, but then they got to nervous so they left, Kimberly was the dark shadow outside near to the window. She wanted to ask me if I wanted to play with her. That entire time I thought that the place had some sort of paranormal activity yet I found out that it was just Kimberly and that the church was not haunted as I first assumed.
